Phil Carlson, Owner and Master Carpenter, has been in the construction field since 1999. He has experience in a wide range of projects, such as building custom homes, a vast array of remodeling projects, and handyman work. Phil's primary aim is to help homeowners achieve their personal remodeling goals through a combination of effective communication and high-quality craftsmanship.

Phil Carlson Custom Woodcraft also specializes in designing and building custom wood pieces from reclaimed and/or store-bought wood. Phil reclaims material from a remodeling project and transforms it into a usable piece of furniture or decoration.

Phil is married to Emily. They have a son, Corban, a daughter, Jadon, and a new baby boy named Asher.  Phil met Emily at Bethel University, where he received a degree in Elementary Education. They live happily in Saint Paul in the Northend neighborhood.

Kim Nelson, Project Coordinator and Administrative Guru, works behind the scenes to keep Phil organized, scheduled, and in constant communication with his clients.  She joined Phil Carlson Custom Woodcraft in October, 2013.

Kim also owns and operates her own small photography business (Kimberly Nelson Photography), and part of her role here will be to add updated photographs of Phil's work to his portfolio.

Kim has held administrative positions at organizations both large and small since 1999, and has been a professional photographer since 2008. Kim met her husband Carl at the University of Minnesota, and they now live in the Hamline-Midway neighborhood of St. Paul.
