Phil Carlson Custom Woodcraft, LLC is a fully licensed and insured, custom remodeling company specializing in residential homes. Phil's primary aim is to help homeowners achieve their personal remodeling goals through a combination of effective communication and high-quality craftsmanship.  Here is a little bit about the people behind the business:

Phil Carlson | General Contractor and Master Carpenter

Phil Carlson, owner and master carpenter, has been in the construction field since 1999.  He has experience in a wide range of projects, such as building custom homes, a vast array of remodeling projects, and various handyman work.  Phil also specializes in designing and building custom wood art and furniture from reclaimed and/or store-bought materials.

Phil wears many hats.  On the job site he acts as a carpenter doing the various carpentry elements of a project, as well as operates as his own production manager.  Phil is also the office manager, does all the estimating, orders all materials, works with the permit office, and has a hand in most of the design process.

Phil is married to Emily. They have a son, Corban, a daughter, Jadon, and a son named Asher.  Phil met Emily at Bethel University, where he received a degree in Elementary Education. They live happily in Arden Hills.  Phil is on the board of directors of a local racing team where he, Emily, and Corban participate in mountain bike racing and ultra running.  If he's not working you can probably find him with his family off on some grand adventure in the mountains or on the north shore.

Design Team

Phil has a network of people that help him meet his clients remodeling goals.  Phil works closely with an architect, a structural engineer, and a number of designers. Together this team is able to take a project from the concept stage and see it through to completion.  Whether you're simply looking for a fresh new look on a room in your home, or wanting to add onto your house from the ground up, Phil has the knowledge and resources to make this happen.

Production Team

Over the years Phil has created relationships with the best sub-contractors the state has to offer.  Together with these men and women, Phil is able to keep production on schedule using his production calendars and effective site management.  All of Phil's sub-contractors are fully licensed and insured with the state of Minnesota, and are held to the highest standards possible.

Stewardship Team

Sometimes it's not clear whether a remodeling project is the best approach for making your home what you want it to become.  Phil has joined forces with a his realtor Liz Johnson to help aid in the decision making process of determining if investing in your home or moving is the best option for you.  We want to make sure that you're getting the most out of your investment.
